I REFER to your report (August 8) ‘Plans to Create homes near Red Cat pub refused’.
Planning officers refused the application, stating in the decision that the proposed development would have “a detrimental impact on the amenity of surrounding occupants due to the unacceptable loss of privacy”.
It added the design “would not be sympathetic to the local character”and the encroachment into the green belt is “unacceptable”.
I feel this remark is ironic considering what St Helens Council have put forward green belt land for development in Eccleston, Windle and Rainford. Could not the same statement not be used for this land?
