A STOLEN car crashed into railings at speed in Prescot after a police pursuit.
Police became aware of a suspected stolen grey Peugeot 307 being sighted on Warrington Road at 10.50pm on Wednesday night.

The car was then abandoned as those inside fled.
The vehicle is believed to have been stolen in Whiston earlier this month.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a suspected stolen vehicle has been recovered in Prescot following an incident last night, Wednesday, August 14.
"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver and any occupants.
"It is believed that the car was stolen earlier this month from an address in Whiston."
