A NIGHT of music to help heal children's broken hearts is set to take place on Sunday, August 25.

Team 1C, made up of parents with children treated for heart conditions at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, have helped raise £80,000.

Most of this went to help children abroad with the charity Healing Little Heart who pay for surgeries on children in impoverished countries with similar conditions.

To add to their funds, the manager of St Helens group Salander, who are friends with one 1C member Terry Travis from Laffak, whose three-year-old son James has had life saving surgery by these doctors in Alder Hey, has organised a night of music at Rockware on Shaw Street from 2pm.

Other artists involved are: Jack Bennett, Storm Kings, Emily Dobie, Greg Davies and Friends and Dreamfeeder.

Terry Travis, from Laffak, said: "We know that James' surgery changed his life, he is a lot better now even if he faces more surgery.

"Children abroad would not have that option without help.

"I cant thank Salander and Sharon enough for offering to help and I hope everyone comes down to support this event.

"All the funds will go to Healing Little Hearts and will literally help to save the lives of children with heart problems."

Wristbands are £4 each.

The group is also looking for donations of raffle prizes to add to the funds on the night.
