THE SUMMER Streets festival hits town today, bringing a fun atmosphere to Church Square and Church Street.

After a three-year absence, 8ft Titan the Robot makes a return to kick off the fun-packed weekend with a unique blend of free comedy, street theatre and music.

Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and the Genie will be walking around today (Friday, August 9) and little princes and princesses can get ready in line for a photo.

The two-day event will also feature dinosaurs and elephants, interactive shows, acrobats, stage entertainment and much more all for free.

The Summer Streets Festival will also host the first ever St Helens Pride on Saturday, August 10 with entertainment by three-time Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists MD Productions and a rainbow walk.

St Helens Council’s portfolio holder for arts, events, culture and heritage, Cllr Anthony Burns, said: "This year’s Summer Streets event – which always brings a carnival atmosphere to St Helens – will be extra special as we will be proudly celebrating the borough’s very first Pride event."
