TONGA national coach and Newcastle Knights assistant boss Kristian Woolf is currently ranked as favourite to take over from Justin Holbrook as Saints head coach at the end of the season.
Saints chief executive Mike Rush will have a shopping list of potential candidates - and will be keen to pull out another winner after seeing Holbrook transform the team's fortunes since 2017.
Given the good place the team will be left in, there will be no shortage of candidates looking to step up - and some may even see this as the route to a head coach's post back in the NRL.
The current odds from title sponsors Betfred, which are obviously changing all the time, list 44-year-old Woolf as favourite to take over as a the next permanent coach at 6/4.
He is followed by:
Adam O’Brien – 4/1.
Jason Demetriou – 6/1.
David Fairleigh – 7/1.

Garth Brennan – 16/1.
