PERMISSION has been granted to convert a betting shop building into a residential home.
Plans to change the use of the vacant building of the former AH Brown bookmakers on West Street, Thatto Heath have been given prior approval.

The application stated the building is "in poor condition needing major refurbishment" and "not in a key shopping area so no impact on the local economy".
Proposed works would include the demolition of a rear yard boundary wall and fitting modern double-glazed windows.
Planning officers have given prior approval to the request for the change of use.
