A PGA professional who competes in long drive competitions around the world has become the new golf manager at Sherdley Park.
Paul Woodcock joins the team at Sherdley Park Golf Club after four years as a teaching professional at Manchester Golf Club.

Before that, Paul, who lives in St Helens, worked at The Tytherington Club as golf operations manager.
Paul, a PGA professional and Golfsmith master club builder also competes in Long Drive competitions throughout America and Europe which regularly see him hitting tee shots in excess of 400 yards, with his longest competitive drive at 423 yards.

Bryan Joelson-Mulhall, director of golf at Sherdley, said: “The chance to welcome an experienced and high-profile golfer such as Paul to the team at Sherdley Park Golf Club was an opportunity too good to miss.

"Paul’s addition will allow us to bring a big focus on golf for all, with an emphasis on encouraging beginners and junior golfers to join us at Sherdley Park Golf Club.”.
Sherdley Park Golf Club has recently undergone a £1m renovation of its clubhouse facilities and the opening of The Park – Bar & Kitchen, open to golfer and non-golfers alike.
Green Circles Estates took over management at Sherdley Park Golf Course on a 150-year lease in 2018.
