TWO properties in separate parts of the borough could be turned into children's homes.
Properties at 23 Prestwick Close and 49 Garston Crescent, Newton-le-Willows are both being proposed for use as a home for one young person.
Applications for a certificate of lawfulness to use each home for this purpose have been submitted to the council after the properties were bought by Heath Children’s Property Limited.
They are described as specialising "in providing mainstream residential accommodation for children with emotional or behavioural
difficulties who currently reside in unsuitable care homes or residential institutions".
Plans state each property would accommodate one child only, living under the supervision of up to two professionally trained
and qualified support staff.
Consultation on the application for Garston Crescent is until Tuesday, July 30 and for Prestwick Close until August 1.
