TWO Rainhill teenagers are celebrating their achievements after competing in one of the biggest athletics championships in the world.
Rainhill High students Luka Sidebotham, 14, and Charlie Roberts, 15, took to the track in the English Schools Athletics Championships held in Birmingham.
Luka competed in the 300m and 4x100m relay events, while Charlie took on the 800m.
Luke is in year nine while Charlie has just finished year 11 at the school.
Charlie won a silver medal finishing in 1:54.36 and has got his England vest for the SIAB (Schools International Athletic Board) competition in Swansea next weekend, and got a national standard time.
Meanwhile, Luka just missed out on a medal coming fourth but finished in 36:59, a massive personal best and also broke the Liverpool Harriers Club Record.

He also got a national standard time and is now ranked fourth in the country.
The championships, described as the "fourth biggest athletics event in the world" were also streamed live online across Friday and Saturday last week (July 12 and 13).
