A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with assault by beating after police were called to an alleged disturbance last week.
Officers attended an address near to Whittle Street, Toll Bar on Wednesday night (July 10) to reports a man and woman were seen arguing.
Residents reported seeing a large police presence, including several cars and a van outside the property, near to the Spinney Medical Centre.
A man was arrested initially on suspicion of making threats to kill and affray.
Police have since charged Paul Watson, of Chatteris Court, Thatto Heath with assault by beating in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said Watson, 41, has been bailed and is due to appear before Merseyside Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 15.
