We need drastic changes to policing and attitudes to driving
A CAR in any hands is a lethal weapon.
Regardless of your views on them, police numbers have been subject to such cuts along with resignations and sickness that roads policing is so far down the pecking order of priorities people feel immune to any kind of action or prosecution.
When people post ‘Be careful, speed van on blah blah’ others immediately reply with unhelpful and antagonistic comments such as ‘should be out catching rapists’ etc.
Until there are drastic changes to policing and attitudes of driving tragic incidents like this will very sadly continue to happen regardless of sentencing guidelines.
