DURING October of last year signs went up at Elton Head Road saying the roundabout would be closed for 22 weeks.
By my reckoning the roadworks and alterations from a traffic island should have been completed by the end of March at the latest.
Signs were erected towards the end of May saying this road opens 1/6/2019.
However, coming from Rainhill, you can only turn towards the McDonald’s Island. Work is definitely not finished.
These roadworks are a nightmare for local residents who have to travel along the filthy Lowfield lane as a shortcut to the M62.
This is a typical example of what is wrong with our country... it takes forever to carry out what must be considered as a small job.
These alterations must have cost millions, and somebody should be held to account.
