A MAN is believed to have fallen from the window of a flat in St Helens town centre today, Monday.
Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were sent to Cotham Street shortly before 5pm.
The incident appears to have happened in an alleyway at the rear of flats.
The man has been taken to hospital.
An air ambulance could been seen circling the town centre searching for a place to land.
Witnesses told the Star they saw a man trying to leave the rear of a flat through a window before a woman tried to lift him back in.
They added he appeared to lose his grip and fell.
One man tried to move an industrial bin beneath him to break his fall, however, he could not do it quickly enough.
An ambulance was called and the air ambulance circled the town centre before landing near Standish Street.
The man has been taken to hospital.
