AT 11am today army, air force and navy personnel and veterans will march side by side to mark
Armed Forces Day.
The event in Victoria Park will start at 11am on Saturday, June 22 with a grand parade at noon.
The day will also see displays of modern and vintage military vehicles, interactive workshops, arts, crafts, a climbing wall, assault course, funfair and much more.
Live music by the Lancashire Artillery Pipes and Drums Band will take place on the Victoria Park Bandstand.
The event is free.
Other attractions on the day include current and vintage military vehicles.
The park will also host a ‘Great Get Together’ event in the park after the parade.
The event was started in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox and is to celebrate people coming
together.
St Helens will play its part, with the Friends of Victoria Park group inviting families to take
part in a Victoria Sponge baking competition.
Entries will be judged by the Mayor of St Helens.
