Police said the assault happened at Whiston Hospital on Monday
A NURSE suffered injuries and was left extremely shaken after being attacked by a patient at Whiston Hospital.
Police confirmed they were called to the hospital at 9pm on Monday after the 31-year-old healthcare assistant was assaulted.
The patient had gone to the hospital to receive treatment.

A police spokesman said: "The victim sustained injuries and was left extremely shaken as a result of the incident."
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
