MOTORISTS are being warned of traffic delays at Haydock Island following a car fire.
Traffic reports state that one lane is closed and there is queueing traffic due to the accident on East Lancashire Road eastbound at junction 23 of the M6 at Haydock.
Firefighters were called to the junction at 8.44am and on scene at 8.50am. Two fire engines attended.

A spokesman said: "On arrival crews found one vehicle on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"No one was injured in the incident.
"Merseyside Police also attended to carry out traffic calming measures."
Fire crews have left the scene, however, police remain there to deal with traffic tailbacks.
