KNUTSFORD’s new mayor is inviting residents to come along to his Civic Sunday parade and service.

Cllr Andrew Malloy is holding his Civic Sunday parade on Sunday, June 23, with the parade assembling at 1.15pm before setting off at 1.20pm.

It will start from King Street car park, before working its way along King Street, Minshull Street, Princess Street and Church Hill, back across King Street car park and across the Moor to St Cross Church, where the service will take place, led by Reverend Paul Deakin.

The parade will be led by the 2056 (Knutsford) Squadron ATC marching band and include dignitaries and mayors from town and parish councils across Cheshire, as well as other uniformed groups.

Cllr Malloy said: “The Civic Sunday parade and service is something of a welcome to the new mayor, and an opportunity for you all to meet your new mayor.

“I would be delighted if as many of you who attended mayor-making could also attend the service and parade, and show me your support as you have done many times before.

“It would be nice to meet many of you face to face, a change from many of our regular chats on social media.

“If you are not able to attend the service, perhaps you could support the parade by helping to line the streets and give us all a cheer as we walk past; that would be truly lovely.

“As my year will be about supporting youth and activity/sport, it would be great to see many youngsters, and local sporting clubs out too. I look forward to seeing you on June 23.”
