Thieves steal handbag at Costa Coffee and threaten man

Police were called after the reported incident at Costa Coffee on the West Point retail and leisure site on Wednesday afternoon.

The offenders stole a woman's hand bag and made off and a man followed them.

Police are conducting CCTV enquiries and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at around 3pm yesterday afternoon (June 5) following reports that a number of males had entered the café and stole a woman’s handbag, before making off from the scene.

"A man followed the offenders where he was verbally threatened, but did not come to any harm. The offender then dropped the woman’s bag and made off."

"Along with analysing CCTV, officers are urging anyone that has any information or was also in the café at the time of the incident to get in touch quoting: 19100290764 so we can identify the offenders and bring them to justice."
