THINK twice before parking at outside the new Marks & Spencers on the Ravenhead Retail Park.

I have just been fined £100 for parking on a white line in the car park.

So be careful if you have a long vehicle or the parking space is so narrow that you have to park on a line to avoid hitting the car next to you when you open your door.

Why is the car park operated in such a way that the operators are making money out of fining Marks & Spencer customers?

This will obviously alienate the customers – it just does not make business sense. I only nipped in to get some bread and a week later I got this fine.

I know it is down to the private company, but M&S chose to move there and their customers could be fined.
