"IT just goes to show us that we might still be fighting for justice for Adam, but that even though he is gone his friends make sure he is not forgotten."
Those are the words of the sister of murdered Adam Ellison after two of his friends took a Liverpool FC flag with his picture on to Madrid for the Champions League final against Spurs.
Former St Helens College student Adam, 29, was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon as he walked home in Prescot on Saturday, November 4 2017.
The former Tesco worker's killers – who had been on board a large motorbike – are yet to be brought to justice.
However, Reds fan Adam has not been forgotten by his friends. Two of them were lucky enough to secure a pair of tickets to watch their favourite team in the Champions League match in Madrid.
They took a flag with their friend's picture on it to the match, where they waved it proudly, making sure he was still with them.
They then sent a picture back to his family in Prescot, who have been "overwhelmed" by the support.
Adam's eldest sister Nicola Moore, said: "When we saw what Kieron and Tom had done we were just amazed.
"They just sent it to me afterwards, I knew nothing about what they were doing before and we just feel totally overwhelmed and moved by their gesture.
"It just goes to show how loved Adam was and his friends still nip round to see my mum and dad more than a year later, they are good mates to Adam.
"He was a huge Liverpool fan all of his life and he would have loved to have been there with them.
"It just goes to show us that we might still be fighting for justice for Adam, but that even though he is gone his friends make sure he is not forgotten.
"These two lads didn't have to do what they did, it is just so lovely."
After Adam's death, his family set up a charity in his name Achieving Dream and Memory (ADAM) which supports the community who came to their aid following his murder.
