THIS photograph of Pilkingtons Football team believed to date back to the 1970s has been shared with the Star.
The team picture features Les Johnson, who died at the age of 70 in 2010, on the front row, second from the right
Les' widow June has shared the picture with the Star.
She said Les also played for Prescot Cables and he worked at Pilks, mainly on the crucible machine, then as a wood cutting machinist at Carborundum in Rainford.
Les and June had two sons, four grandchildren, and two great granddaughters have also been born now too.
June says she doesn’t know for sure when the picture was taken but she thinks Les was in his mid-30s which would mean the picture was taken in the mid-1970s.
