GUESTS including Saints coach Justin Holbrook and chairman Eamonn McManus attended a VIP launch of the new restaurant and clubhouse at Sherdley Park Golf Club.

The newly-renovated £1m clubhouse, including its new restaurant and bar The Park, was unveiled earlier this month.

A VIP launch event was held with special guests in attended.

Among them was Saints coach Justin Holbrook and chairman Eamonn McManus, who is also chairman of the St Helens Economy Board.

New council leader Cllr David Baines was also present on the evening, along with outgoing mayor Pat Ireland.

The restaurant, bar and terrace are open to all members of the public, available for park goers as well as golfers.

Planning permission was received last December for the £1m wholesale transformation of the clubhouse.

Last summer new management Green Circle Estates took Sherdley Park golf course on a 150-year lease.
