East Lancs road closure in place after crash
MOTORISTS are warned that a crash has led to road closures on the East Lancs heading into Liverpool.
The crash happened on the A580 East Lancashire Road between Knowsley Industrial Park and Moorgate Road in Croxteth at around 5.40am.
Traffic reports suggest the indications are that the closure will be in place in time for morning peak.
Star readers have sent messages saying that a lorry's trailer appears to have toppled over.
In a statement Merseyside Police said: "Please be aware the westbound carriageway of the east lancs is closed near the junction of Coopers Lane, traffic is advised to down Moorgaate Road, then Suth Boundary Road and then on to Coopers Lane to get back on to the East Lancs Road."
