THE funeral of former councillor and owner of Pets Emporium Wally Ashcroft will be held on Tuesday, June 4.
Wally, from Windle, was a former councillor for the area, serving more than 12 years. He was a former leader of the Tory party in the borough.

He died on Sunday, May 5 in Whiston Hospital following a bout of low blood pressure.
He leaves behind wife Nancy as well as three children.
Wally's funeral service will be held at the United Reformed Church on King Street, St Helens at 1pm.

This will be followed by burial at St Helens Cemetery at 2.30pm, with a wake at Liverpool St Helens rugby club on Moss Lane afterwards.
