A FORD Fiesta and a Mercedes were involved in a crash outside a Prescot bakery.

The two-vehicle collision took place on High Street outside Ray's Bakery at around 3.25pm on Wednesday (May 22).

Police and ambulance were called to the scene, with a road closure in place until 7.30pm.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "A man, one of the drivers, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and some muscle pain for a check up.

"All details were exchanged after the crash. The road was reopened at about 7.30pm.

"There was a closure in place while they got an idea of the seriousness of the injuries."
