CREATIVE children can win a free party at a new soft play centre if they come up with a name for the new family friendly attraction.

A new venue is coming to Newton-le-Willows as part of the major refurbishment of Newton-le-Willows Health and Fitness Centre, formerly known as Selwyn Jones Centre.

However it does not have a name yet, so one lucky child can win a party or play sessions at the centre if they come up with a name that is fun, simple and easy to remember.

Entrants can submit up to three suggestions.

Cllr Anthony Burns, incoming cabinet member for public health, leisure and libraries, said: “This will be a great benefit for the community of Newton-le-Willows and surrounding areas like Haydock who will be able to take advantage of the facilities that offer something for all the family.

“We are committed to investing in communities right across St Helens Borough and projects like this will bring something that so many can enjoy and hopefully encourage more people to see what else we have on offer in our leisure centres and take steps to leading healthier lives.”

The closing date for entries is Friday, June 7.
