A PLANNING application has been submitted seeking to use apartments as supported living flats with staff and communal facilities.

The proposals for the flats at Borron House on Borron Road, Newton-le-Willows have been received by the council.

Plans state: "The proposed clientgroup are 18+ male or female with learning difficulties or mental health issues.

"The service provision is supported living within a recovery and rehabilitation model of care".

They added: "The properties recently vacant after limited use as multiple C3 apartments.

"The proposal is for the property to remain similar to existing with minimal alterations internally to provide suitable flat layouts.

Additionally the decoration will be freshed where necessary to enhance the standard of living spaces for the

individuals at the properties."

Plans add the staff to client ratio is one member of staff to three residents during the daytime and one to five residents during

the night.

Plans have so far received one resident letter of objection, who cited worries over their "quality of life" being affected and "increased noise levels".
