Police search for man in town centre after reports of 'altercation' near Victoria Square
POLICE have been searching for a man in St Helens town centre following reports of an altercation near Victoria Square.
Officers were called to the town centre at about 3.20pm following reports of a flashpoint close to a Chinese takeaway.
However, the man had fled from the scene, with witnesses reporting that he has ran through town centre streets.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
