WITH all the worldwide protests regarding climate change reported recently, why does St Helens Council still allow people to burn ‘garden waste’ in domestic, populated areas?
I say garden waste – but a majority of them burn household rubbish.
Let’s be a leading council and take a step forward.
Ban these people from burning this stuff (especially late at night when people are trying to breathe) and we can start the carbon footprint fight right here at home!
Add to this the people who suffer because of this selfishness. People with asthma, bronchitis and other chest infections.
Let’s start tomorrow not when it’s too late.
