THE plans to turn the former HMRC office on College Street into apartments have been given permission.
Proposals were submitted seeking prior approval for a change of use of the former offices into 66 residential apartments.

Plans, submitted on behalf of applicants Mapeley STEPS Ltd, stated that the proposals include 17 car parking spaces and 66 cycle parking spaces.
The application said plans are "likely to result in an overall decrease in total person trips" compared to its previous use.
"As such the proposals, will not lessen the building's impact on the surrounding highway network," plans added.
It is said the scheme would present "a significant planning benefit, given the general pressing need for housing".
The former Tax Credits office at the Crown Buildings on College Street was closed in August last year after it was axed under modernisation plans by HM Revenue & Customs.
