VIKING-STYLE fun and live craft demonstrations will be among the activities as International Blacksmith's Day is celebrated at the Smithy Heritage Centre.

The annual event returns to the Kiln Lane venue on Saturday, May 18 with lots of crafts on show for people, real ale, cider, a hog roast and home made cakes.

People can see this year's exhibition, 'Vikings' featuring objects loaned from the North West Heritage Group.

The exhibition looks at how the Vikings settled into the north west with items on display that were discovered in this part of the country.

There are live craft demonstrations from noon until 5pm featuring Blacksmithing; Wheelwrighting; Green Woodworking; Yarn Spinning and Weaving and a chance to meet Arnie the horse.

Soft Drinks, tea and coffee and cake will be on offer.

People can have Viking-style fun and learn to play Hnefatafl.
