A FAMILY car used to transport a disabled child has been stolen from a driveway.
Police are appealing for information after the theft, which officers have branded as "particularly callous".
Police received a report at around 5.25am on Friday (May 3) that an offender had forced entry to the porch of a house on Birch Grove, Garswood where they stole keys to a grey Ford Freedom vehicle with mobility access.

It is believed the theft happened between 10.30pm on Thursday, May 2 and 5.15am on Friday.
The vehicle contained a child’s car seat, a blue badge in the front window and has a pink sticker in the back window. At the time of the theft, it was bearing the registration number DE02 LOZ.
The owners have been left sickened by the theft

Community Inspector Neil Birkett said: "The theft of any vehicle is a despicable offence which has the potential to leave the rightful owner without means of getting to work, to shop and to enjoy their day to day lives.
"But the theft of a vehicle which is clearly for the use of someone with a disability who already has mobility challenges is particularly callous.
"This family need the vehicle in order to transport their disabled child, and it is a lifeline on which they depend.
"I know that the vast majority of decent people in the community will be appalled by this and I urge them to help us trace the person or people responsible so that we can bring them to justice.
"Anybody who has any information about this crime or has seen the vehicle is urged to come forward."
