BBC Radio Merseyside commentator Allan Rooney has thrown out a challenge to Saints supporting St Helens Star readers after being puzzled by picture that has been given to him.

It portrays a Saints sevens team, playing at Knowsley Road in what will be the late 1960s to early 70s.

There are some familiar faces on there - with some Hall of Famers and club legends, but identifying the man third from the right on the back row has proven to be a bit of a head scratcher.

From left to right on the back row from former chairman Joe Seddon, we have long-serving club legend Kel Coslett, future skipper Eric Chisnall, Billy Sheffield, unknown and Great Britain centre John Walsh.

Front row sees prolific try scoring wingman Les Jones, 1972 cup winner Ken Kelly and three times Wembley winner and future skipper and coach Billy Benyon.
