POLICE and firefighters were called after youths started fires at a country park on Monday evening (April 22).
Emergency services attended Lyme & Wood Country Park between Haydock and Newton-le-Willows shortly before 9pm yesterday.
Reports were received of youths having lit fires at the location, close to Crow Lane West.

A police spokeswoman said: "The fire service called us at around 8.55pm after youths had been lighting fires.
"Patrols attended and completed an area search but no youths were located."
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman added: "There was a small grass fire and we had one engine there.
"We were alerted at 8.40pm and on scene at 8.46pm and we left at 9.13pm.
"Police did attend the scene."
