VIOLET-Grace's dad has announced that he is to run the London Marathon in the four-year-old's memory in an emotional tribute two years on from her funeral.

Violet-Grace Youens died on Saturday, March 25 2017 after being struck on Prescot Road by a stolen speeding car travelling at 83mph.

Two years ago today, April 18, she was laid to rest.

Her dad Glenn Youens, wrote an emotional tribute to his daughter, and announced a list of events he will be taking part in this year in her memory.

He said: "Two years ago today we had to say our final goodbye.

St Helens Star:

"The church aisle which I always imagined walking you down in a stunning white dress on your wedding day, smiling with that beautiful infectious smile you had.

"Instead I had to walk you down in a Trolls decorated coffin. Everyone sat and listened to mummy and me tell everyone how amazing you are. Tell everyone how much you was, and are still

loved so much by us and your little brother Oliver.

"I know you are watching over him now. Seeing how much he has grown. He’s just like you with your infectious smile and laugh. He knows what a superhero you are and how you saved lives and inspired so many people to sign the organ donation register.

"You have inspired so many people to do so many amazing things to help others. From running, cycling, walks, cake sales raffles anything you can think off people are doing it because you inspired them to do great things.

St Helens Star:

"You have inspired me to be better father to Oliver. I like to think I was a good dad to you but there are so many things I wish I could change and do differently. I would have spent so much more time with you and give you that one more story - even after 3 already.

"These last two years since losing you, you have inspired me to do things I never even thought possible for me. Like running a marathon or let alone cycle from London to Paris in less than 24 hours.

"In 10 days time I will be taking on one of the biggest Marathons in the running calendar year, The London Marathon."

The London Marathon will take part on Sunday, April 28.
