ARMED police were called following reports of a man in possession of a knife at a property.
At around 11.25am, police were called to Lewis Street, St Helens following reports.

Numerous emergency services vehicles attended the scene, including police and ambulance.

A cordon was put in place on nearby Napier Close.
A police spokesman during the incident said: "We can confirm that armed officers are in St Helens today following a concern for the safety of a man.
"At around 11.25am, a call was received following reports of a man in possession of a knife at a property in Lewis Street.
"Nobody else is in the property and we would ask people to avoid the area while the incident is resolved, and thank local residents for their patience."
Police have since confirmed that a man has been detained following the incident.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and taken into custody for questioning.
