THE doors of town centre pub The Sefton are set to reopen this Saturday, April 13 following a £200,000 transformation – and the Star has been given a sneak preview ahead of its unveiling.
The Baldwin Street venue closed a few weeks ago as workmen began the major revamp with the refit seeing the return of the dancefloor and increased areas to watch sports as well as spacious booths where customers can watch sporting action on HD screens.
The makeover represents the latest investment in St Helens town centre's social scene following the opening of new restaurants The Dean and Cork & Dough, and refurbishments of the Royal Tavern and The Duke of Cambridge
General manager, Matt Williams, and his team will be celebrating with an opening party on Thursday, April 18, alongside Mayor of St Helens, Cllr Pat Ireland. The first 100 customers on that date will be welcomed with a free glass of fizz and samples from the new menu.

Matt, who is taking on seven new staff, said: “We are thrilled to relaunch The Sefton to the people of St Helens.
The considerable investment means that the new interior looks amazing and we have great plans to deliver a fantastic customer experience and make a positive difference to the community. We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone in to enjoy what we have created."
The venue’s licence has also been extended to 3am on Saturdays.
