PLANS are in to transform a former bookmaker's into three separate units - including an electric shop and a carpet showroom.
A planning application, submitted by Brian Smith, seeks permission to make the changes to the former Betfred betting shop on Parr Stocks Road.
Proposals look to "divide the ground floor into three self-contained units, a carpet show room to the front, a fireplace storage unit to the rear and a lighting shop in between".
The application proposes there will be four full-time employees after the development.
The ground floor has previously been split into two units, most recently, a betting shop to the rear and a taxi rank.
The carpet showroom will be used for customers of Carpet Corner, across the road, which is under "the same ownership".

Proposals say the site will require "less parking" with the fireplace storage not accessible to the public and the flooring showroom for customers of the existing Carpet Corner.
It adds: "The electric shop is expected to require minimal parking due to its size and limited potential customer base".
The plans also say the residential flat above the front part of the flooring showroom "will be fully refurbished".
Expected opening hours are to be 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday.
Plans are on consultation until Tuesday, April 30.
