A FOLLOW-UP planning application has been submitted outlining details of a housing development.

Plans relate to previously approved proposals for 180 houses at land next to the Little Lea Green Farm on Elton Head Road.

An application for the approval of appearance, landscaping, layout and scale has been submitted to the council.

Plans say the site will provide 180 dwellings in total, with 33 two bedroom homes; 84 three-bedroom homes; 41 four-bedroom homes and 22 two-bedroom apartments.

They add that most plots will have parking provided as tarmacked parking bays, either to the side of the property or to the frontage, or within single or double garages set back behind the building frontage line.

All houses and apartments would have at least two spaces and the majority of four-bedroom house types will have a third space within the garages.

The application states the "house type design seeks to reinterpret the existing ‘traditional’ St Helens vernacular and that of the wider area".

The "buildings will be a maximum of three storeys and aim to be a contemporary interpretation of the traditional character found around the local area".

The original outline planning application received approval from the council in April 2016.

The plans are on consultation to the public until Thursday, April 18.
