A WOMAN who suffered the loss of her parents has launched a group to help people experiencing loneliness in their lives.

Nicola Marsh, 49, decided to set up the NBLA (Never Be Lonely AGAIN) Group on Facebook to help make a difference for people suffering from isolation.

Mum-of-four Nicola set up the group a few months ago after she had lost her parents, including her dad to emphysema, and also a friend of a friend had taken their own life.

The group has so far amassed more than 2,500 members and Nicola says is helping to make a real difference to people's lives.

The private group allows people to share their problems and receive support and Nicola has a team of seven admins running the group to provide a secure and trustworthy network for members.

Nicola, from Prescot, said: "The posts members are writing are some what sad but truly helping others to realise they are not alone.

"It really is amazing the messages I get off people telling me the group is saving their lives, it brings a tear to my eye.

"I'm so glad I opened the group, it's the best thing I have ever ever done. We are now in 35 countries and was in Take A Break magazine.

"The things the group is capable of doing is endless, I can't wait to see where it is in a couple of years."

Nicola says many members come from the local area - and also has attracted some members from abroad.

Nicola added: "In all honesty the way the group is not just down to me but everyone in it, it's such a lovely place to be, and it also supports me too.

"Sadly people don't leave their front door. I would love to have my dream come true for the group, pick up a few members and travel, just to knock on another member's door and let them know they are loved and cared for by everyone in NBLA."
