THE long-awaited St Helens Superbowl complex held an exclusive launch this evening ahead of its general opening tomorrow.

The £1.8m bowling alley and leisure complex includes a soft play centre, amusement arcade, diner and bar.

The facility has created 35 new jobs.

The Star enjoyed a peek at the new 14-lane bowling alley at this evening's event.

Mayor Cllr Pat Ireland bowled the first ball as the facility was unveiled at the exclusive launch.

The bowling alley at Linkway West stands alongside the existing businesses at the site – which includes a Costa Coffee, an Aldi and a Frankie & Benny’s restaurant.
