THROUGHOUT this year we will be dipping into the wedding albums of Warrington couples who have tied the knot and finding out more about the happiest day of their life.

THIS pair of newly weds clocked up some miles before tying the knot.

After meeting on dating app Tinder, Michael, aged 45, made a 300-mile round trip every weekend to spend time with Kirsty.

The 46-year-old added: "We only had an hour the first time we met while Mike was working in Manchester on his break but we hit it off straight away.

"We both felt an attraction and arranged to meet the following weekend.

"He would drive every Friday straight from work and stayed until Sunday before travelling back home every weekend.

"We loved spending time together - laughing, eating out and watching movies as we both love horror films."

Warrington Guardian:

After meeting on Valentine's Day in 2016, the pair could not live with being so far apart and after 18 months Michael moved with one of his sons to Locking Stumps to live with Kirsty and her two sons.

He popped the question over dinner and of course Kirsty said yes.

She added: "I woke up one morning to breakfast in bed with my ring box open on my bedside beside my phone as he knows I look at my phone soon as I open my eyes."

The happy couple tied the knot on March 8 this year at the Greyhound Hotel in Leigh with 43 guests joining them for the daytime and 110 for the evening.

Kirsty added: "It was absolutely unforgettable and everything we dreamed of and more.

"We had our own little personal touches for our loved ones who are no longer with us so it felt like we had a little bit of heaven at our wedding.

"The hotel went above and beyond to make our day amazing."

On the day, guests tucked into leek and potato soup, followed by a chicken dinner and strawberry cheesecake with a buffet in the evening.

Kirsty's oldest son Rheece, aged 17, gave her away with Kirsty and Michael's other children and grandson asked to be ushers and a page boy.

Kirsty added: "I loved it as it proved his consent for me to marry Mike.

"My favourite memories of the day are everything from the start to the end and all the smiles, love and laughter from everyone present.

"But I will never forget the surprise car Mike booked for me.

"It was the only one in the UK and came from America after starring in The Untouchables with Kevin Costner."
