A PLANNED development of eight houses on the site of a former social club has been granted permission by St Helens Council.
Plans were submitted to create eight homes at the site of the former Portico and Grange Park Cabaret and Social Club on Upland Road, Thatto Heath.
Permission was sought for six four-bedroom terraced homes and two three-bedroom semi-detached houses.
Plans stated: "The aspiration for the site is to deliver homes for new and growing families.
"The development will improve the availability of good quality homes in the area and bring a disused site into use.
"It does not over-develop the site by providing a comfortable amount of space between building forms in line with policy".
Planning officers have given the homes the green light.
