THE doors are set to open at St Helens' £1.8million bowling alley next week – after more than 1,300 applied for just 35 jobs at new complex.

Ahead of its launch on Thursday, March 28, Superbowl has been overwhelmed by the volume of applicants for jobs at the new venue.

Positions include party hosts, kitchen staff, bar staff, cleaners and receptionists.

Laura Whittle, general manager at Superbowl UK St Helens, said: “I am looking for individuals who are as passionate as me about delivering great customer service and I am delighted that I now have a great front-of-house team in place.”

Superbowl UK St Helens will boast 14 state-of-the art bowling lanes, Crazy Club Soft Play Centre, and a SEGA Amusement Arcade area along with a stylish food diner and bar.

The venue will open at 9am next Thursday, March 28.

The new recruits will undergo on-the-job training at the nearby Superbowl UK site in Widnes, before the St Helens location opens.
