A SIX-YEAR-OLD Everton fan who had his leg amputated as a baby enjoyed a day “he will remember forever” when he was presented with a season ticket from striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Max Lamb, from Rainford, was born with a rare condition called amniotic band syndrome, which can restrict blood flow to the limbs of unborn babies and affect their development.

Max had to have his right leg amputated at seven weeks old but he does not let this hold him back and he even plays for his age group in the England Amputee team.

After his dad Chris Lamb posted a picture of Max’s previous prosthetic legs on Twitter, his friend Will Nesbit tweeted Max’s favourite team Everton, to see if they could do anything for him.

The Brook Lodge pupil has had Minions and Spiderman patterns on his prosthetic legs in the past but was amazed after a surprise visit from Calvert-Lewin and Everton graphic designer Sharelle Hunt, who helped create a special Toffees-themed sleeve at the Club’s Royal Liver Building headquarters.

He said: “I’ve got my name on it, and pictures of Jordan Pickford, Richarlison and Dom, Pickford is my favourite player, but Dom is second now.”

After designing the pattern, Calvert-Lewin presented Max – and his dad Chris – with an Everton season ticket for the 2019-20 campaign, before teaching Max his ‘lawnmower’ celebration moves.

Max’s dad Chris, 41, said: “I can’t believe this all started from a tweet because Everton really made his day.

“Its a dream come true for him and a day he will remember forever.

St Helens Star:

“Max is not usually speechless, but he couldn’t speak at first when he met Dom, which was lovely and funny to see.

“Also through what we’ve done we’ve learned that there is a charity in Africa that take used prosthetic legs called Legs 4 Africa, so he has decided to donate them, which makes us very proud that other children will benefit from his old legs.

“I can’t thank Everton enough for doing this for Max, it made him feel very special.”

Calvert-Lewin said: “It’s been great, Max did such a good job with the sleeve and to get the season ticket is just a great surprise.

“Hopefully I can score few goals in front of him.”
