A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after two police officers were attacked in Prescot while recovering a knife and machete.
Emanuel Beckles, of High Street, Prescot has been charged with possession of a bladed article, assaulting two police constables and obstruction.
The incident occurred at around 2.35am yesterday, Thursday, March 14, when officers sighted a Ford Transit van parked outside a disused pub on High Street.
They spoke to the two men in the van and then carried out a search of the van.
During the incident the two police officers were assaulted.
Beckles will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, April 12.
A second man, from Rainford, arrested in connection with this incident has been released without charge.
