THREE police officers attended hospital after a patrol car crashed with a black Mercedes in St Helens last night.
The marked police vehicle was responding to report of concern for safety when the collision happened on Prescot Road, near its junction with Grange Drive.
A police spokesperson said three male officers went to hospital for precautionary checks.
The spokesperson added: "The North West Ambulance Service attended to assess the driver and two passengers of the police vehicle and they were taken to hospital for further assessment as a precaution.
"The male driver of the Mercedes was uninjured and spoke with police at the scene.
"An investigation into the incident has been launched and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward."
