A MAN charged with the murder of mum-of-five Rachel Evans will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, March 18.

Carl Harrison, 46, of Hignett Avenue, Parr appeared at South Sefton Magistrates’ Court in court today Thursday, March 14, charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, March 18.

Police were called to Hignett Avenue, Parr on Monday, March 11 around 12.50pm to reports that a woman had been stabbed.

A post-mortem confirmed that 46-year-old Rachel Evans, from St Helens died of multiple stab wounds.

At this stage the incident is believed to be “domestic related”, say police.

Rachel’s family have issued a photograph and paid the following tribute: "Rachel was a loving mother to five boys, a sister and an aunt.

"The family would ask people to respect their privacy at this time."
