AN exhibition is set to launch this week urging residents to create their own artwork inspired by slogan t-shirts.

Merseyside artist Kate Hodgson has been working with St Helens Libraries and inspiring local people to get involved and create their own – with a particular interest in language and print.

For her latest project, Outfit for 35 People, at Eccleston Library – Kate has produced a series of prints and performances which draw upon the absurdity of slogan t-shirts, and their ability to disseminate information.

Outfit for 35 People culminates in a group t-shirt wearing performance taking place at St Julie Catholic Primary School, Eccleston.

A video of the 35 school pupils wearing the screen-printed outfits will be shown at Eccleston Library alongside the t-shirts during March.

The exhibition launches on Friday, March 15, and runs until Tuesday, March 26.

A crafts session led by the artist will take place at Eccleston Library, from 3pm to 4.30pm on Friday, March 15.

All are welcome to attend this free event, just drop in, with refreshments and snacks available.
