A MAN has died after a motorcycle hit a wall near the driving test centre at Navigation Road, St Helens.

A police statement read: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at fatal road traffic collision on Navigation Road, St Helens.

"The incident is reported to have happened at around 2pm (March 11) when a male motorcyclist collided with a wall.

"Despite the best efforts of first responders, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The man has been identified and his next of kin informed.

"Other motorists are advised to avoid the area whilst officers remain at the scene."

North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called just before 1.40pm to help a man in his 40s with “serious injuries”.

Police have sealed off an area around the Victoria House building, at the junction of Pocket Nook Street and Atlas Street, Pocket Nook.

The area is near the St Helens College Technology Campous.
